I arrived at Amsterdam Centraal from Utrecht on Friday 29th April 2010 and a few kilometres before arriving I saw a large number of 1700 and 1800 electrics out of use. I think these locos were used for push-pull services until delivery of new electric units.

Has anyone got a list of which electric locos are stored at this location?

Any help would be appreciated.

You probably mean the Dijksgracht (Dgr) yard. All 1800 locos have been set aside along with the DDM-1 carriages; the locos that were recently seen here are:
1824
1832
1833
1835
1836
1839
1843
1844
1845
1846
1849
1851

Some 1700 class locos have also been set aside. Locos that have been seen at Dgr recently:
1729
1737
1754
1762
1771
1772
1774
1775

Although these locos aren't really stored because of the arrival of new units. NS(Dutch Railways) is slowly phasing out the use of locos.

Some of the carriages are not used anymore, and other ones are being revised and assembled as a trainset which consists completely out of 'carriages' so to speak, where the power units are in/on/under some of the carriages

Nothing to worry about though, it will take a while before we will see the last loco leave%02%

Only the 1700 electrics were used for push-pull services. Primarily, the 1800 electrics have recently been used in combination with the train type: DDM-1 (double deck). This type of train is currently not used in regular train services, so the 1800's aren't necessary any longer. Recently some of the 1800's did show up in de Intercityservice from Schiphol Airport to Berlin, but i don't know if this still happens nowadays. Maybe an other user can figure that out?

For sure they did show up in the IC-service to Berlin, but i haven't seen any of the 1800's on this train since the DDM-1 coaches are out of service (I believe they both went out of service at the same time). Some of the 1800's were used for transfering other locs or coaches without passengers.

1700 locos are used in push-pull services with DD-AR (double deck) coaches and with ICR coaches. They were and are still used to pull other (currently mostly international) trains.
1800 locos were also used to pull "other" trains, but they were also used in push-pull services with DDM-1 (double deck) coaches.

Haven't seen them around here recently... (and this service practically runs along my house). All Schiphol-Berlin trains are being pulled by 1700 loco's nowadays (for the Dutch part that is of course).

Thanks for your help.

During my journey I saw 1700 class electrics and was wondering where they worked. I did see some on push-pull services at Amsterdam Centraal and another one at Utrecht on an IC train.

It is good that they are still working as sadly I think Holland (like Britain) is gradually becoming an "EMU only zone".

PS Sorry to be posting in English - sadly my Dutch is very limited so please accept my apologies.

Don't be sorry, I'm glad you asked it!
And if people mind the English, Google Translate is a helpful friend, if necessairy.

It seemes to have escaped everybody's attention, but since 21 and 22 april more engines have been stashed away on Dijksgracht (be it rather hidden away):
1842, 1847, 1850, 1853, 1857, 1858. Which means that only 1855 is not there; it is on Watergraafsmeer nearby, also out of service.

Plus 1731 and 1748. Also out of service: 1755 on Watergraafsmeer, coopled with 1855 (what's in a number)
